Chiu C. Tan (陈秋强)

About me

I am an associate professor in the Department of Computer and Information Sciences at Temple University . I received my Ph.D in Computer Science from the College of William and Mary, and my B.S in Computer Science and B.A. in Economics, both from the University of Texas at Austin.

My current research interests are smart health (primarily designing systems for users with cognitive impairment, and systems to support telemedicine and in-home monitoring), and security (primarily augmented reality (AR) and voice user interfaces). In the past, I have worked on wireless/mobile computing, RFID systems, vehicular networks, and cloud storage security. A list of my publications can be found on Google Scholar, and a recent CV (Summer 2022) can be found here.

I am currently advising 2 Ph.D. students: Alkhansaa Abuhashim and Hassan Shafei. I looking for new Ph.D. students with an interest in systems research. I am also willing to advise Temple undergraduate and MS students looking for independent study and/or master project. Please email to set up an appointment.
