Al and Izzy Pump Strings

This is an individual assignment. Be sure to enter your name on each html form. Play each game below until you can win consistently (under the Hard setting if available). For each game, turn in printouts of wins with 3 different values of N >= 5. If you get stuck you are allowed to get help, preferably from me or Hongbo However, the printouts you turn in should be the result of your playing on your own, without any helpers present. Be sure to enter your name in the html form on each page.

Note: I am able to print java output from Internet Explorer 5.5; this is not possible with some older browsers. If you want to save your results to a file and print them later, you can capture the screen in win 95/98 by holding the win95 key and hitting the print screen key. This copies the screen and then you can paste the image into a Microsoft Word97 document. I don't think this requires the hardcopy program. (Thanks to Robert Kulseth.)

Troubleshooting: Before printing, check to see that everything from the title to the date (in the lower left-hand corner) fits on your screen. If not, then you can close your browser's toolbars and select smaller fonts (8-point works on a 15-inch monitor under netscape with all three toolbars closed). If it still doesn't fit, you may have to use a bigger screen.

If the applets won't run, try restarting your browser. Reloading the a web page didn't reload its applets the last time I tried.
